Painted Mirrors 1

Here are the results of my newest preoccupation ... painted mirrors

I have one more almost done, another one already given to a friend and yet another one half made. Three others wait for their turn while I think of ideas ...

It's rainy and pleasant in Austin. Fat cat sits at my feet, scared. It's ideal weather for some hot pakoras and ginger chai ... yum. :)

Hope your week's going well!

Amazing! Can you share how you made it?? I would love to make coasters like these ones. Love the second design ... have a thing for paisley I guess :)

What lovely mirrors, what size are they? Go on, give us a hint on how you made them.
Thank you for comments, yes, of course, the exterior will be white and the shutters are blue. Trying not to over do it though, we don't want to be too twee, do you know that word?? some renovations here are in the 'over kill' catagory. We've tried to stay clean and simple.

Gorgeous! How do you do that. That is real talent! I'm just not good at this kind of art. I love it though and wish I had that ability.

Thanks for sharing.

I had a similar idea - I bought bunch of such mirrors from Ikea and meant to paint them. I am not sure if I can do as good of a job, but I will try - great mirrors, thanks for sharing.

are these beautiful or are these beautiful !!!

thanks, all. :)

I didn't make the wooden frames! I bought the blank, wood-framed mirrors at IKEA, drew the designs on them, and painted using acrylic paint.

Vidya - now that's an incentive to keep blogging!

Bhavana - looks like we have the same idea! Looking forward to seeing your mirrors.

these are really wonderful! I love the colors and patterns that you have chosen ... *giggles* ... it's nice to know that other people get on craft "binges" once in a while, too.

They look so much like mosaics...I had to take a closer look!! Incredible work!! Love them!!

And the funny thing is just today I was writing a list of things I want to make as gifts for the holidays...and mirrors was the top on my list!

Peace & Love.

your would really enjoy stained glass classes and I can tell by looking at your other works of art that you would be good at it.
